Somalia’s council of Ministers held their weekly meeting in Kismayo, a port town in Southern Somalia, becoming the first outside Mogadishu.

Somali PM Hassan Ali Khaire has chaired Thursday’s meeting, which focused on key issues, including the security, and cooperation between the Federal government and the country’s regional administrations.

The President of Jubbaland Ahmed Madobe, his vice President and other high-ranking officials held talks with the Somali PM and his cabinet following the session, and discussed current situation in the region.

The PM paid a visit to the port of Kismayo, where he inspected the operation of the seaport which is one of the key financial sources of Jubbaland state led by Ahmed Madobe.

The Prime Minister of the Federal government Hassan Ali Khaire has thanked Jubbaland for hosting the first cabinet meeting in Kismayo, and promised to hold such meetings in the other federal states.
