President of the Federal Government, H,E. Hassan Sh. Mohamud has on Monday officially taken over office as the former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo made a full transfer of power at a handing over ceremony at Vila-Somalia, SONNA reported
Former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo welcomed the new President and handed over office and requested the public to show support and work with the new president in fulfilling his duties.
Farmajo commented on thousands of missing Somali youth for the first time, identifying their number as 5’000 soldiers who completed training in Eritrea and will return back to the country.
President Hassan Sh. Mohamed thanked his predecessor, Farmajo for making the peaceful transfer of power, saying he will consult with his brother on some issues for further explanation during his term in office.
President Hassan was elected on May 15th, 2022, a week earlier and he moved to the State House and took office formally today.
