Somalia’s new president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held a meeting with the outgoing President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo for the third time in a week on Saturday at the presidential palace in Mogadishu.

The Presidential Delegation Organizing Committee, led by Dr. Mohamed Abdullahi Issa, Director-General of the National President, has agreed that the handover ceremony will take place in the presidential palace on Monday, May 23.
Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was elected by Somalia’s lawmakers on Sunday in the capital, defeating the outgoing president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.
