At least four Puntland soldiers have been killed in ongoing fighting with the militant group Al-Shabaab in Af Urur area in Bari region as the state forces said they have neutralized 12 Al-Shabaab militants.
Security officials in the region confirmed that the Puntland side had lost four of its soldiers are they fought back an Al-Shabaab onslaught which started Sunday morning.
The militant group launched a deadly offensive on the Af Urur military base in June 2017 killing at least 50 Puntland soldiers.
Sources said fighting is still ongoing.
