Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at the Qatari Royal Palace on Monday.
During the meeting, President Hassan Sheikh reaffirmed Somalia’s solidarity with Qatar, stressing that the Somali people and government will never accept any infringement on Qatar’s sovereignty, dignity, or security.
For his part, Emir Tamim expressed gratitude to the Somali leader for the solidarity and fraternal support shown by Somalia, while highlighting the importance of strengthening the historic ties and cooperation between the two nations.
President Hassan Sheikh and Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali arrived in Doha to participate in the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit, convened to discuss the Israeli attack on Qatar on September 9.
The summit emphasized the need for Arab and Islamic unity in addressing the crisis and considered a draft resolution expected to be adopted on Monday.
