48 people killed in Beletweyne bombings- President Gudlawe

Hir-Shabelle State president Ali Gudlawe gas said 48 people were killed in two bomb attacks in Beletweyne on Wednesday.

Gudlawe told journalists the attacks also wounded 108 people. Pictures from the scene show vehicles and buildings also destroyed.

The Hir-Shabelle leader also called on the public and security forces to remain vigilant noting more attacks could be imminent.

Among those killed in the attacks was MP Aamina Mohamed who was in the campaign trail in the town.
Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
